The name therefore implies that only one stone is used in this piece of jewellery. Classically, this is a diamond or brilliant-cut diamond. The name of the ring and the choice of the diamond as the gemstone are accompanied by the symbolism that the recipient of the piece of jewellery is unique and irreplaceable. The setting of a solitaire ring is traditionally a six-claw setting. In this way, the stone is perfectly highlighted and the sparkling brilliance can be seen from all sides.
