FAQ

We recommend choosing the fitting service for ring sets if you are unsure about ring sizes or similar. Rings with an engraving or a changed stone setting are excluded from the exchange.
When ordering you can simply choose that you want to order the rings with the fitting service (8.90 EUR surcharge). Now you can enter your desired details (possibly engraving and possibly changed stone setting). You will then receive the rings without engraving and without modified stone setting for fitting. However, if you have decided on a modified stone setting, you will receive the women's ring without stone setting for fitting.

For 8.90 EUR you get:

  • a free return shipment (you can print out a parcel label via our return service),
  • a new insured shipping back to you
  • and the certainty that the rings will fit and please you!

A multiple shipment is not included in the fitting service. You are welcome to return the rings after the return for further fitting, for this we would have to charge you 8.90 EUR again.

After the fitting you send us the rings via our return service back free of charge.

We offer a special dummy service exclusively for our gold, platinum and palladium wedding rings.

For only 15,- EUR (plus a deposit of 55,- EUR, which will be refunded to you after the return) you will get:

  • stainless steel replicas of the original wedding rings (dummies),
  • 4 stainless steel sample rings for size determination,
  • free return shipping within Germany (you can print out a parcel label via our return service),
  • a ring gauge for approximate size determination (in case the sample rings do not fit),
  • and the certainty that the rings will fit and please you!

If you want to order several dummies for inspection, simply order the service again (a maximum of two dummy models can be sent).

Definitions

Dummies: Are stainless steel replicas of the later gold, platinum or palladium rings, which look like the later wedding rings (minimal deviations are possible). The size, width, texture and surface finish of these dummies cannot be changed. However, this is possible with the later rings. The women's ring dummy is supplied with zirconia stones. The zirconia has a similar size to a 0.03ct diamond if it is set individually in a ring. D If your original ring model has a smaller or larger stone, please consider this. If several zirconia stones are set in th women's ring dummy, the stone size is respectively smaller and corresponds to 0.01 or 0.02ct diamonds.

Sample rings: These are stainless steel rings which are only used for size determination! They are supplied in a ring width of 3 mm or 5 mm and are slightly curved inside. They are not an example for the later wedding rings!

If you have inspected the rings and determined the sizes, please return the dummies and sample rings to us within the cancellation period of 14 days after receipt.

As soon as the return has been processed, we will retain the 15,- EUR service fee. The remaining amount will be refunded to you in the method of payment chosen by you at the time of ordering.

You can order individual items without engraving and then send them back to us for subsequent engraving. In this case, the corresponding surcharge for the engraving and the resulting shipping costs will be calculated.

Please consider our size guide for information on how to determine your ring size.

We can neither exchange engraved products nor change the size/length afterwards. We therefore recommend that you determine the required size/length exactly in advance. Maybe our size guide will help you with this.

In case you are still not sure, we will gladly send you the piece of jewellery without engraving for fitting. We will then engrave your piece of jewellery afterwards (for the respective surcharge for engraving). Please keep in mind that in this case, you will have to pay shipping costs again. For many wedding rings, a fitting service can be ordered directly. Here you will find further information.

Diamond engraving

This type of engraving is a colourless relief engraving. It is carved into the piece of jewellery (with a diamond).

Laser engraving

With this type of engraving, layers of the material are removed from the piece of jewellery with a laser. The resulting dust is burned directly back into the piece of jewellery and the colour of the lettering is created.

The hue and also the longevity of the font colour depends on the exact material composition. This can even vary within the same product. If the colour of the lettering decreases, the engraving remains legible, as the removed material leaves a recess (similar to the diamond engraving).

The size and also the position of the engraving depend on the dimensions of the respective piece of jewellery or the size of the engravable area (engraving space). The engraving is adjusted individually to the engravable area by our experienced engravers. If an order belongs together, the size of the other piece of jewellery will be taken into account (if possible). Thus, if you place a later repeat order, the font size and the position of the engraving may deviate slightly from the piece of jewellery you already received. The engraved text and its font also play a significant role in the size of the engraving:

You can choose between these 15 fonts for both diamond and laser engraving:

  • Most jewellery can be cleaned with warm water and mild soap.
  • You can find the cleaning and care products for silver and gold jewellery in our shop.
  • Leather jewellery should be impregnated before wearing. Special care of the leather prevents the jewellery from becoming porous. Of course you can find these products in our shop as well.
  • Please do not keep your jewellery in damp places or wear it while exercise.
  • Please avoid contact with cosmetics or perfume. It could harm the surface of your piece of jewelry.

Silver (without rhodium plating) can change its colour over time, this is quite normal (and no sign of poor quality or workmanship) as it constantly reacts to oxygen in the air.

It is important to properly care for your silver products. Ideally, wipe it off with a silver cleaning cloth in the evening and put it in a silver bath once a month. If you don't do this, the remainder of the oxidation will make the product appear black over time.

In addition, you should avoid contact with cosmetics (perfumes, creams, etc.) and should not wear the item while exercising. These factors accelerate the process of oxidation considerably (especially in summertime temperatures), as sweat, creams and perfume pass directly onto the jewellery.

  • Jewellery with engraving, changed stone setting or custom-made products are excluded from the right of withdrawal.
  • A return is only possible within the withdrawal period, provided that the product is not excluded from the right of withdrawal (see previous point).
  • If you are not satisfied with the delivery you received, please contact our customer service in advance:
  • For worn items that have traces of usage, we may have to charge you for the resulting loss in value. This case comes into force if, after an examination of the condition, characteristics and function of the product, it turns out that improper handling is evident.
  • For returns within Germany you can use our return service. The return service is a voluntary offer of the Unique Jewelry GmbH. We charge a processing fee of €3.90 for the use of our returns service. Please note that the return shipment via our return service is only insured up to 500,- EUR. Outside Germany and with a value of goods over 500,-EUR you have to send the return to us at your own expense.
  • You can also send your return to us by yourself. In this case, enclose a copy of the delivery note or invoice. Enclosing the delivery note or the invoice is not a mandatory requirement for exerting the right of withdrawal but makes it easier for us to allocate your return.   • Please do not send any unpaid shipments back to us, this only causes unnecessary costs for both sides.
  • When returning the goods, please make sure that they are packed securely and cannot be damaged. Neither we nor the transport company are liable for damage during the return transport.
  • You generally bear the costs for the return. This is defined in our terms and conditions and the cancellation instructions.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to exchange an item for another one with the payment methods Klarna invoice and AMAZON Payments. In this case, please send us the item back for a refund and simply reorder the item you want.

You can either use our return service (only within Germany) or dispatch the parcel yourself at the post office. Please note the general return information.

When returning the goods, please specify which item you want to exchange (item number, length or size). We charge 3.90 EUR (within Germany) for reshipment. For a new shipment abroad, we calculate the country-specific prices. You can find a list of these in our shipping information.

As soon as the return has been processed, we will inform you via e-mail about the shipping costs and/or the difference (in case of an exchange for another item). If you receive a refund from us, this is always done via the payment method you selected when ordering. If you still have to pay money to us for the exchange, this can only be done via PayPal or bank transfer.

The quicker alternative to an exchange would be to return the item for a refund and then to simply reorder it. The new item can be shipped as soon as payment has been received (within the delivery time stated in the shop). Once the return has been processed, we will refund the respective amount to you.

When returning goods, you can either use our return service (only within Germany) or dispatch the parcel yourself at the post office. Please note the general return information.

As soon as the return has been processed, we will inform you via email about the refund/repayment. You will always be refunded via the payment method you selected when placing the order.

In step 4 / ENGRAVING DETAILS you can enter all the information about the engraving.

The engraving text from the fitting service can be transferred. Here, you also have the option to inform us about changes of the ring size in the field "NOTES". We can then apply this to the new order.

If you would like to change the engraving, you can select the desired position of the engraving at "TYPE OF ENGRAVING" and new boxes will appear where you can enter the engraving. Here, you also have the option to inform us about changes in the ring size in the field "NOTES", so that we can apply those changes to your new order.

At the end, the package label will be generated as a PDF file. Please save the PDF first and then print it out. On the left side you will find the delivery receipt (have it acknowledged at the post office) and on the right side you will find the package label (just stick it onto your package).

Order on Monday - Thursday until 2 pm and we will ship your order probably on the same day and it will be delivered the next day. If you order on Friday until 2 pm, we will ship your order on the same day, but it will only be delivered on Monday because DPD does not deliver on Saturdays (same goes for express parcels).

This only applies to items that are marked as "immediately available" and it requires a receipt of payment before 2 pm. For many payment methods, initiating the payment does not necessarily mean that we have received the payment. You will be informed about the receipt of payment via e-mail.

If you would like to receive your order via express shipping, you can choose between the following options:

Order on Monday - Thursday until 2 pm and we will ship your order on the same day and it will be delivered the next day. This only applies to items that are marked as "immediately available" and it requires the receipt of payment before 2 pm. For many payment methods, initiating the payment does not necessarily mean that we have received the payment. You will be informed about the receipt of payment via e-mail.

The delivery time of DHL and DPD is approx. 1 - 2 days. However, DPD does not deliver parcels on Saturdays.

ATTENTION: When ordering via the payment method PayPal, the delivery will be sent exclusively to the delivery address specified at PayPal (buyer protection guidelines). The delivery address entered in the order process in our shop will not be taken into account.

Shipping to Austria

  • The cost for shipping to Austria is 8.90 EUR
  • The average parcel delivery time to Austria is 2-4 days
  • Express deliveries to Austria are not possible

Shipping to Switzerland

  • All deliveries to Switzerland are exempt from German VAT (after logging in or entering a Swiss delivery address, the displayed prices and shopping carts change)
  • All deliveries to Switzerland are provided with an EORI number, declaration of origin and fivefold invoice copy for customs purposes
  • We take over the complete customs clearance including customs fees (included in the shipping costs)
  • All precious metals are provided with responsibility mark
  • Shipping to Switzerland is done with DPD
  • The Swiss VAT of 8% is due on delivery. It will be collected by DPD and forwarded to the Swiss customs.
  • The costs for the dispatch to Switzerland amount to 30,- EUR (starting from a commodity value of 1,000 EUR an export declaration becomes necessary, the surcharge for this amounts to 30,- EUR)

Shipping to Norway

  • The cost for shipping to Norway is 22,90 EUR
  • DPD requires the recipient's PID number (personal identification number) for delivery. Please include this number in the address field

Shipping to the Canary Islands

  • The shipping costs are 30,- EUR
  • DPD requires the recipient's NIE number (Número de Información de Extranjero) for delivery. Please include this number in the address field

An overview of further shipping costs abroad can be found in the shipping information. If your desired destination country is not on the list, you are welcome to request more information.

Prepayment / Bank transfer

  • Secure payment method
  • Shipping of in-stock items after receipt of payment, at the latest on the next working day (Monday - Friday), you will be informed about the receipt of payment via e-mail
  • Takes up to 4 days depending on the bank

Klarna (For deliveries to Germany and Austria)

  • Secure payment method
  • Shipping of in-stock items after receipt of order or release by Klarna, at the latest on the next working day (Monday - Friday)
  • Advantage: Fast and convenient.
  • Payment methods:
    • Pay immediately (immediate bank transfer, direct debit, credit card)
    • Pay later (invoice purchase up to 14 days after invoice or shipping date)
    • Pay in instalments for deliveries to Germany (instalment plan 6, 12, 24 and 36 months and flexible payments)
  • Please note that you transfer the amount directly to Klarna and not to us. You will receive your invoice directly from Klarna (via e-mail) to the e-mail address you entered when ordering.
  • Prerequisite:
    • Minimum age 18 years
    • Invoice address in Germany or Austria
    • Successful credit check via Klarna
  • You can manage all your purchases via klarna.com or the Klarna App and even pay with just one click.
  • ATTENTION: The goods will only be shipped to the billing or delivery address

PayPal

  • Secure payment method
  • Shipping of in-stock items after receipt of payment, at the latest on the next working day (Monday - Friday), you will be informed about the receipt of payment via e-mail
  • Advantage: Buyer protection via PayPal up to 1000,- EUR
  • Prerequisite: You must have a PayPal account or set it up if you want to pay with PayPal. Please note that it may take a few days for a new PayPal account to be activated
  • ATTENTION: The goods will only be shipped to the buyer protection address registered at PayPal. The delivery address entered in the ordering process in our shop will not be taken into account
