Turquoise

 Türkis
Turquoise is a mineral from the mineral class of phosphates, vanadates and arsenates. This gemstone naturally forms grape-shaped mineral aggregates and crystals in nature. Its unique turquoise colour is also the reason why it is called turquoise. Although this etymological definition is not without controversy, it seems to be the most realistic of all hypotheses. Turquoise gemstones can only be found in a few places worldwide. Among these are China, the US states Nevada and Arizona as well as the Iranian Nishapar, which is also the most famous turquoise site. The history of this gemstone goes back to 6000 B.C. and until today the turquoise has a unique attraction for jewellery that fascinates everyone.
