Tanzanite

 Tansanit
The tanzanite is a transparent zoisite. It is mainly known for its unique blue colouring and is one of the best selling coloured gemstones in the world. The problem: the tanzanite is much rarer found than a diamond. The name of this gemstone already reveals a lot about its origin, because it comes from Tanzania and was introduced to the market by the world-famous jewellery company Tiffany in New York. From a historical perspective, Tanzanite is associated with the Maasai culture, where the colour blue is sacred. In their culture it stands for health, success and fulfillment, which is why women who have a child are still given blue jewellery consisting of tanzanites today. This gemstone will not lose its charm and desirability in the future.
