Leather Necklace

The leather necklace is probably one of the most original pieces of jewellery ever. More than a thousand years ago, people adorned themselves with chains made of leather with special symbols and decorative pendants attached. The first necklaces were both ritual jewellery and simple ornaments. Modern leather necklaces are still particularly popular as items of jewellery and are available in numerous different designs. For example, leather necklaces can be braided from individual strands of leather, consist of several unknotted strands or simply be made from a single strong leather strap. What the leather necklace finally looks like is only due to the design of the jewellery collection. Of course, the colour of the leather can vary, but black and natural leather brown dominate the selection. In addition to natural nappa leather, imitation leather is often used in jewellery, which has positive qualities compared to real leather. For example, imitation leather does not absorb odours as easily and is also more resistant to moisture than genuine leather. A leather necklace can be a standalone, i.e. worn without a decorative pendant, or it can be a base for special decorative elements such as pendants.
