Convex

Convex is the name for rounded and curved surfaces. The name derives from Latin convexus, which means curved or rounded. It is of utmost importance that these surfaces are curved outwards. The opposite of convex is concave. Pieces of jewellery with a concave shape arch their outside inwards. If now a ring with the description convex is described, then its form can be outlined as follows. The inner ring of the piece of jewellery is flat, i.e. neither convex nor concave. Thus the ring lies with the largest possible surface on the skin and sits reliably on the finger. The outer ring, on the other hand, has the characteristic curvature that gives the ring its round appearance. If a ring has a convex shape, it appears rounder overall, almost as if it had once been a complete sphere worked into a ring. When precious metals or other reflective elements are brought into convex form and polished to a high gloss, the mirror image is drawn into the width.
